Pride Community Center, McMaster Student Union (MSU)
PCC is a student-run service provided by the MSU that aims to challenge oppressive social attitudes and norms, patriarchy, homo/trans/bi/lesbophobia, and the like, at the systemic level.
PCC provides a contact point for McMaster students that may identify as gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, queer, and/or any of the other diverse identities that make up our community. We offer educational programming and access to resources of interest, as well as peer support and a physical space for students to meet and socialize with each other. As advocates for gender & sexual diversity, the PCC’s mandate upholds that 2SLGBTQ+ students are entitled to a safe and supportive campus, absent of homophobia and transphobia, where the expression of one’s gender & sexual identity is welcomed and respected.

Project Youth AFFIRM
Project Youth AFFIRM seeks to integrate identity affirmation with cognitive-behavioural interventions that are already known to work. This combined intervention is presented in the form of eight sessions targeted at LGBTTQQ2SA* youth and geared towards reducing risky sexual behaviour and depression.
AFFIRM is a eight module, manualized intervention. It is focused on reducing depression and improving coping and sexual self-efficacy for LGBTTQQ2SA* youth by providing them opportunities to develop identity cognition (self-awareness, identifying risk), mood (recognizing the link between thoughts and feelings), and behaviour (identifying strengths and ways of coping), as well as equipping them with the tools to manage and influence those factors by themselves.

QTBIPOC sauga
QTBIPOC sauga is a grassroots gathering of queer and trans, Black, Indigenous and people of colour (QTBIPOC) communities from across Peel.
We began in January 2016 as a way of addressing the lack of spaces dedicated to QTBIPOC people in Peel. Since then, little has changed in terms of spaces for QTBIPOC folks.
We host monthly meetups (virtual due to COVID-19). In the past, we have held monthly meetups (location not shared publicly due to safety concerns) where community members can connect, share food, and build community. QTBIPOC sauga has held meetups in Brampton as well! We have organized events including panels, workshops, performance events and more. We also advocate locally.
We are not a non-profit organization, but a grassroots group.
