reachOUT, Lumenus
reachOUT is a creative, inclusive & accessible program for lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans, two-spirit, gender nonconforming and queer (LGBTTGNCQ) people in the Greater Toronto Area. In particular, we recognize the needs of youth and adults who experience multiple oppressions and work to create spaces with and for people who are traditionally excluded from mainstream services, including people of colour, trans, two-spirit and gender nonconforming people, and disabled people. We are committed to social justice, community building, education and advocacy to increase access, visibility and to strengthen our communities. As part of equitable representation, our staff team reflects the diversity of our queer, trans, two-spirit and gender non-conforming communities with the majority of our team members identifying as Black, Indigenous and people of colour. We offer:

This group provides a safe space for youth aged 12 to 25 to connect with other youth of the LGBT2SQ+ community on a monthly basis. Hosted by our Peer Support Workers assisted by a partner clinician, youth can enjoy games, activities and a place to hang out.

Safer Schools & Draw the Line, Egale Canada
Egale offers a variety of workshops to school boards, educators, and students alike! We offer two fully-funded streams for our sessions: Safer Schools and Draw the Line.
Safer school sessions range from understanding the LGBTQI2S acronym, gender fluidity, capacity building, consent, and more. Our Draw the Line workshops focus on transphobia, rape culture, and intersectionality. Our facilitators integrate lecture-style speeches, videos, activities, interactive games and discussion to ensure a well-rounded and in-depth understanding of the content. Egale hopes, through our workshops, to create a more inclusive, safer, and educated community.

SAY OutLoud! Queer Youth Support Group
Supporting Altnerative Youth (SAY) OutLoud is an alternative youth group that offers a warm, inviting and safe place in the community for gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, inter-sex, two spirited, queer, questioning youth and their allies.
It’s a great place for support and to build new friendships and more. Members range in age from 14 to members in their mid twenties. Most are students in or around the Quinte area. So come meet with us on Tuesday evenings and see what you think. Refreshments and snack is provided. Parents are welcome to come support their youth to attend as well.
SAY OutLoud hosts weekly support meetings to discuss life’s challenges and benefits. Through these meetings, lasting friendships have been formed and barriers have been broken down. Some of the activities include, check-in, movies, games, events, group discussions and lots of laughter. We also offer youth a resource to find out about other support services and community events. Dating, relationships, coming out, education, spirituality, homophobia, the future, family, drugs, alcohol, mental health, bullying and AIDS are some of the many issues we continue to discuss.
