Distress Centres of Greater Toronto
NOT A 2SLGBTQ+ SPECIFIC RESOURCE
Our 408-HELP (4357) line provides telephone support to individuals in the community who are at risk and their most vulnerable. Highly-trained volunteer responders (with the support of professional staff) connect with callers 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. Our team provides callers with emotional support and crisis intervention when they are socially isolated, marginalized, struggling with chronic mental health problems, in distress, attempting to navigate family violence or in need of emergency response or suicide prevention + intervention + postvention.

We Have Got You
The Touching Base Program is a predominantly short term support program for individuals over 16 who live in Mississauga, Brampton, Caledon and surrounding areas. Volunteers provide registered participants with medication reminders, safety check-ins, or emotional support through friendly social calls.

Drama Queers
Drama Queers:
A FREE, 6-week group for 2SLGBTQ+ teens (16-19) being offered by the LAMP CHC in Etobicoke on Thursday evenings, starting Feb 6th, facilitated by Zachary Templeman, RP(Qualifying) and Sadie Epstein-Fine. This group will provide opportunities for participants to explore their sense of self through a theatre creation process. Food will be provided. Participants must register to join.
Access Info:
Registrants can provide any dietary restrictions for the food provided. Washrooms are gendered and there are keys for folks to access them. As this group happens when there aren’t other programs running, there aren’t likely to be folks outside of this group (aside from some staff of the CHC) using the washrooms. Embrave – Agency to End Violence is an anti-violence organization providing shelter, counselling and advocacy supports for women, Two-Spirit, gender queer, trans and non-binary folks and their children experiencing any form of violence in the Region of Peel and beyond. We provide supports and services to survivors with or without children.
We understand that survivors’ experiences of violence are compounded by intersecting forms of racism and oppression. Embrave is a low barrier organization that is committed to ending gender-based violence by acknowledging and addressing the multitude of barriers facing folks who have experienced violence and by providing crisis intervention and a range of supports and services.
Embrave’s definition of gender-based violence includes intimate partner violence, sexual assault, sexual harassment, cyber violence; physical, emotional and financial violence; stalking; structural and systemic violence, such as racism, colonialism, classism, transphobia, homophobia, sanism, islamophobia, nationalism and ableism.
