On Wednesday, October 30th from 4:30-6:00pm, LGBT YouthLine will be hosting a virtual Day of Action for our Write for Student Rights campaign. This event is a powerful opportunity to stand in solidarity with 2SLGBTQ+ youth and help create supportive, inclusive, and affirming spaces in schools across Ontario.
Attendees will hear from Lyra Evans, an Ottawa-Carleton District School Board trustee, who will also speak about the importance of organizing and how queer students and allies can take action. You’ll also learn more about our campaign’s mission and how the Ontario government can better support 2SLGBTQ+ youth in schools.
Write for Student Rights advocates for the rights of queer, trans, and 2-Spirit youth in Ontario to access safe and inclusive schools. The campaign encourages community members to write letters to their elected officials to demand better on behalf of 2SLGBTQ+ students.
We hope to see you there!
